Social Inclusion Unit

The Social Inclusion Unit at the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet is responsible for coordinating a whole-of-government approach to social inclusion.

The Unit works to develop a shared understanding of, and coordinate efforts to embed, social inclusion approaches across agencies and jurisdictions. This includes providing advice to the Minister for Social Inclusion and undertaking research and analysis.

The Unit also provides secretariat support for the Australian Social Inclusion Board, which provides advice to Government on policies and programs that enhance social inclusion.
