The Task Force’s functions
The Community Response Task Force was established at the beginning of 2009 to allow the Third Sector (non-profit and other community groups) to deal directly with the government about the impact of the global financial crisis on vulnerable Australians. It was asked to consider:
- what the government and the community sector can do to help Australians experiencing financial difficulty
- what can be done to help Australians facing redundancy or finding themselves unemployed and
- what administrative reforms can help Third Sector agencies focus even more on helping vulnerable Australians.
